Vibratec has developed several customized solutions for world-leading antenna manufacturers by designing tailor-made cable dampers. Cable dampers are very useful because they maintain excellent vibration isolation at maximum shock loads in harsh environments or extreme temperatures. They have a long service life and can adapt to elastic displacement in all dimensions allowing for multi-directional vibration isolation. INDUSTRY

Acoustic dampers, enclosures and exhaust silencers are part of a range where the silencers can be supplemented with spark arrestors, catalytic exhaust gas cleaners or catalytic soot filters.

Sandwich layer cushioning

Free layer or stretchable damping means that the damping material is glued to the surface of the structure and forms a damping layer. Energy is released by stretching and compressing the damping material as the base layer flexes under vibration. Damping depends on the composition of the damping material, with thicker damping layers providing greater damping. Vibratec can offer different types of damping layers including viscoelastic paint. Sandwich layer damping systems are used to increase damping for rigid structures. A "sandwich" is formed by laminating a damping layer between two enclosing base layers. As the system flexes under vibration, shear stresses develop in the damping layer and energy is released as the material shear deforms. By varying the layer thickness, it is possible to optimize the loss factors of the system for different temperatures without changing the composition of the material. Vibratec offers several different types of damping layers that are cut and punched according to customer specifications. Viscoelastic glue can also be used in the sandwich layers.

Envelopes

Soundproofing enclosures reduce the transfer of noise from source to receiver. We provide standard modular systems as well as customized solutions based on requirements for sound attenuation, fire resistance properties and materials. For offshore applications, the enclosures are fully realized in AISI 316 and provided with all necessary documentation. Limited Layer Damping (CLD)

Free layer or elastic damping involves gluing a damping material to the surface of the structure to form a damping layer. Energy is released by the expansion and compression of the damping material when the substructure bends under vibration. The damping depends on the composition of the damping material, with thicker damping layers providing greater damping. Vibratec can offer different types of damping layers including viscoelastic paint. Limited Layer Damping (CLD) systems are used to increase damping for rigid structures. A "sandwich" is formed by laminating a damping layer between two confined base layers. As the system flexes under vibration, shear stresses develop in the damping layer and energy is released by shear deformation of the material. By varying the layer thickness, it is possible to optimize the system's loss factors for different temperatures without changing the composition of the material. Vibratec offers several different types of damping layers that are cut and punched according to customer specifications. Viscoelastic glue can also be used for the sandwich layers.

A Tuned Mass Damper - TMD - is a damper that stabilizes motion caused by harmonic vibration. Practical systems are tuned to either move the main oscillation away from a problematic generating frequency or increase the damping of a difficult resonance. In large-span structures (bridges, stairs, roofs), large vibrations can occur in one of its fundamental oscillations, due to wind or people walking. Low natural frequencies and low internal damping are typical characteristics of many of these large structures. With TMD (Tuned Mass Dampers) these vibrations can be reduced very effectively. A TMD consists of a spring, an oscillating weight and a damper where both the stiffness of the spring and the weight can be adjusted to precisely fine-tune the resonant frequency of the structure in question and its natural frequency. Antennas

For machines with frequent stops/starts, it is generally necessary to use isolators with a high damping factor, while isolators for machines operating at a constant speed of rotation will be chosen to maximize vibration isolation (therefore lower damping factor).

RAUDTEE (reeded)

All other steel parts are typically in stainless steel AISI 316 covered with wax OKS2000.

Constrained Layer Damping

Free-layer or extensional damping means that a damping material is glued onto the surface of a structure forming a damping layer. Energy is dissipated as a result of extension and compression of the damping material when the base structure is flexing during vibration. The damping is dependant on the composition of a damping material and increases with damping layer thickness. Vibratec can offer several sorts of damping layers including visco elastic paint. Constrained-layer damping (CLD) systems are used to increase damping in stiff structures. A "sandwich" is formed by laminating a damping layer in between two structural constraining base layers. When the system flexes during vibration, shear strains develop in the damping layer and energy is lost through shear deformation of the material. Varying layer thickness ratios permits optimizing system loss factors for various temperatures without changing the material's composition. Vibratec can offer several sorts of damping layers cut and punched according to client specification. Also visco elastic glue can be used for sandwich layering.

Heavy Machinery

These types of machines induce heavy amplitude vibrations which is better treated as a series of periodic shocks. A good vibration isolation can be achieved by the use of elastic elements or machine mounts with high internal damping and progressive load-deflection characteristics.

RAILWAY (track)

Vibratec has the expertise in materials and performance for all track systems. The required characteristics are calculated individually on a project basis. When selecting a track system, the most important design factors, apart from vibration isolation, are the lateral stability of the rail, electrical isolation and maintenance and replacement costs. Our solutions and systems meet all relevant standards and requirements.

Track systems with ballast

Standard and elastic underlays are produced in different materials to meet any technical specification. Under Sleeper Pads (USP) can be selected to further reduce maintenance costs and increase track quality and life. Soft USPs are designed for light axle loads and provide great vibration damping, while medium and hard USPs are the solution for mixed traffic, transition zones, main lines and high-speed lines. It is possible to achieve a high degree of vibration damping in a ballasted track system by using Under Ballast Mats (UBM). These mats are made of resin-bonded rubber and are easy to install without joints. They are resistant to all kinds of weather conditions and are available in different thicknesses.

Embedded track systems

PREFArails embedded track systems are perfectly suited to tram rails and provide a quiet, sustainable, cost-effective and attractive solution. For sleeperless designs, PREFArails provide excellent lateral stability, high electrical resistivity and many options for the final layer. Three levels of vibration damping are available and these can be combined with a floating concrete element. In renovation projects, Modulix in precast concrete modules can be used to minimize installation time and disruption to road traffic.

Track without ballast

Mats for floating concrete elements are available in numerous thicknesses and strengths to meet all technical criteria. The mats are easy and quick to install in all weather conditions. The system can be tailored to achieve exactly the level of insulation you need. With floating concrete substrates, the properties can be tailored and the supports accurately designed using advanced simulation software.

Turbo/Generators/Compressors

Integrated track systems

PREFArails systems for integrated tracks are perfectly suited to tramways and offer a quiet, durable, economical and aesthetic solution. For tracks without sleepers, PREFArails guarantee excellent lateral stability, superior electrical resistivity and many choices for the top layer. Three degrees of vibration damping are available and can be combined with a floating slab. Coordinated mass dampers (CMDs) are dampers that stabilize harmoonilisest vibratsioonist-induced noise. Practical systems can be used either because they protect the environment from excessive vibration, or because they increase the vibration level of the resonant side, which is not easy to measure. Tuned Mass Damper - vaimentimeter

The Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) is a device that prevents the harmonized heating system from causing damage. Both the smoothness of the casing and the mass can be measured according to the resonance behaviour of the casing and the known normal speed of the casing, so that no solution is possible. Selection of the right solution for rotating machinery is normally based on speed, possible gear ratio, output torque and whether the machine stops/ starts frequently. For machines that stop/start frequently, isolators with high damping are normally required, while isolators for machines running at constant speed are selected to maximize vibration isolation (and thus have lower damping).

Turbo/Generators/Compressors

The custom-made vibration isolators are designed for outdoor offshore and marine applications. The vibration isolators are usually used as a trade-off between price and performance. The steel structure is normally manufactured in steel S355J2G3 and painted according to offshore specifications. All other steel parts are usually made of AISI 316 stainless steel covered with OKS2000 wax.

RAILWAY (track)

Three levels of vibration damping are available and can be combined with a floating foundation. For renovation projects, Modulix precast concrete modules, for example, minimize installation time and local traffic disruption.

Slab Track System

Floating foundation mats are available in different thicknesses and stiffnesses to meet all technical criteria. The mats can be installed quickly and easily in all weather conditions. The system can be customized for the desired degree of insulation. With floating foundations, the properties can be customized and the storage designed precisely using state-of-the-art simulation software.

Tracks on ballast

Our standard and resilient rail pads are manufactured in different materials to meet all technical specifications. Tie pads can be selected to further reduce maintenance costs and increase the quality and life of the track. Soft sleepers designed for light axle loads provide high vibration damping while medium hard and rigid sleepers are suitable for mixed traffic, transition zones, main lines and high speed tracks. A track on ballast can be effectively damped by using mats. Made of resin-bonded rubber, they are easy to install without joints, can withstand all climatic conditions and are available in different thicknesses.

Louvers

Louvers offer a good protection for air intake and exhaust openings to technical installations. Tuned Mass Dampers

A Tuned Mass Damper - TMD - is a damper that stabilize motion caused by harmonic vibration. Practical systems are tuned to either move the main mode away from a troubling excitation frequency, or to add damping to a resonance that is difficult or expensive to damp directly Wide span structures (bridges, stairs, roofs) can be excited to high vibration amplitudes in one of their basic mode shapes, for example by wind or people walking. Low natural frequencies as well as low internal damping are typical for many of these large structures. With Tuned Mass Dampers these vibrations can be reduced very effectively. A TMD consists of a spring, an oscillating mass and a damper where both the spring stiffness and the mass is adjustable to fine tune the resonance frequency exactly to the structure and its certain natural frequency, meaning each solution is unique.
